Yes No UK Residents Only You will be given the option to receive an electronic catalogue by email, or to request a hard copy catalogue by post
Electronic catalogues are sent by UKPAD to your email address. As the catalogue files can be very large, this option is only recommended for users with broadband internet connections. If you connect to the internet with an ordinary modem, it may be better to request a hard copy catalogue. Electronic catalogues are sent automatically and you should receive them within 1 hour of your request. Not all auctioneers make their catalogues available electronically. If the catalogue is available in several different file formats you will be asked to select your preferred format HTML is a format which your web browser understands. For example, this page is written in HTML. If you download a catalogue in HTML format, you will be able to view it using your web browser (ie the program you're looking at now) You need a program called Adobe Reader in order to view catalogues in this format. When you receive the email from UKPAD with the Adobe PDF catalogue attachment, simply double click on the attachment to view it. If the catalogue does not open, you can download Adobe Reader by clicking here. ZIP is a compressed file format. Some auction catalogues are compressed or zipped in order to reduce storage space and transfer times. To uncompress the file, you need a utility like WinZip (Windows). If you request a hard copy catalogue, a request will be made on your behalf to the auctioneer. UKPAD will make every effort to ensure that your request is made successfully. The auctioneer is then able to forward a catalogue to you when it is available. Please note that the delivery of hard copy auction catalogues is outside of UKPAD's direct control. UKPAD can request catalogues on your behalf, and auctioneers will service your requests at their discretion. Firstly, login to your account and check that your postal address and email address are recorded correctly.
Electronic catalogues are sent immediately but can be delayed due to their size and problems on the internet If you do not receive your catalogue within 24 hours it is likely that either your email address is incorrect, or that your email account is unable to receive emails with large attachments. Free email accounts (such as hotmail) will often not accept emails with large attachments; if this is the case, contact your email provider to seek a solution.
If you asked for a hard copy catalogue, check your request was made successfully by viewing your account activity. If the auction is still many weeks in the future, the catalogue may not be available yet. In these cases, the auction house in question will treat your catalogue request in their standard manner. This usually means that a catalogue will be forwarded to you when it is available, but UKPAD cannot guarantee the action that an individual auctioneer may take. If you are concerned that you will not receive your catalogue in time, you should contact the auctioneer directly by telephone. For security reasons, the forum registration is separate from your UKPAD registration. Registering to use the forum is extremely simple, requiring only a username, password & email address.
